My life as an artist has taken some interesting turns in the last few years...
Change sometimes my friend, sometimes the adversary... has nudged me away from what was perceived as known toward many improbable paths...that remains true even now...
My earliest memories of painting and drawing were sitting on my Grandmother’s lap in church, coloring on the back of a hand held fan. Painting, or doing something creative with my hands has always focused and nurtured my restless soul.
As a young boy living in Moret Sur Loing, France, I spent long hours watching and talking with the Artists painting along the Loing River and in the village streets. What began as curious observation and play has become a life long journey of self-discovery.
We only arrive at our destination with diligence and the love and support of others. My family, friends and patrons have been the wind beneath my wings often.
I prefer to use various mediums with a focus on oils. I’m ‘at home’ with pastoral settings, impressionistic techniques, large abstract panels utilizing Venetian plasters, acrylics, and other collage style materials. I also paint murals on tile for backsplashes or other mosaic applications.
I am currently working on a book of poems and essays; a chronicle of my personal transformation over the last few years. Visit my blog on the Stones 2 Stars tab to learn more about that.
